Luciana Foglio and Luján Montes are filmmakers specialized in image and sound postproduction. Since 2012, they run the production company and post-production house Galope Cine, focused on the development of auteur films, in particular, documentaries, animations and debut works.
Throughout these years, many of the projects that Galope has accompanied have taken part in numerous international festivals: Todo lo que se olvida en un instante by Richard Shpuntoff was part of important festivals such as MoMA Doc Fortnight 2021, FIDMarseille 2020, Sheffield DocFest and DOK Leipzig; Viento del Este by Maia Gattás Vargas won the Best Focus Award at Jihlava IDFF 2023; La Piedra Mágica by Paula Herrera Viva participated in the IFFR 2024, Family Short section and in Olhar de Cinema 2023; Arturo Maciel Flecha's Nostalgia para el lago participated in Cinélatino Toulouse 2024 and BAFICI 2023; Sapos, Momentos de infancia en dictadura by Lucas Brunetto was screened at FICVIÑA 2023; Historia Universal by Ernesto Baca took part in the 23rd BAFICI; El tambor y la sombra by David Bisbano took part in Chilemonos, International Animation Film Festival 2016, Hiroshima International Animation, Festival 2016, Girona International Film Festival 2016; Tortillas by experimental filmmaker Jeff Zorrilla was part of the Straight 8 selection, Cannes Film Festival 2016.
Luciana and Luján co-directed the short films Historia Clínica (2013) and Lo repetís hacia adentro con la fuerza de un trueno (2019). The feature film El ruido son las casas (2018) is their debut feature. It premiered at BAFICI and FID MARSEILLE, where it won a special mention from the jury in the international First Films competition. They are currently developing their third feature film in collaboration, Ausenta el mundo, an experimental fiction. They also work assiduously in super 8 format. These short films, made both together and alone, have participated in several festivals and exhibitions such as the Mar del Plata Film Festival (ARG), Filmmakers' Coop (USA), Union Docs (USA), Los Angeles FilmForum (USA), Pasajes Filmadrid (SPA), The8Fest (CA), Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin (FR), LEC (MEX), Festival Dobra (BRA), Festival Stranglescope (BR), FestiFreak (ARG), FICIC (ARG), Montevideo Cine Experimental (UY), and the DAFilms and MUBI platforms.
